Gus Orlando started in the health club industry in the early 80’s working for Jack LaLanne health clubs. While working with Jack La Lanne, he was a personal trainer, salesperson, club manager, eventually becoming an area director of multiple locations throughout Long Island. Gus opened the first Gold’s Gym in NY State, right here on Larkfield Road in East Northport in March 1989. A 34,000 square foot state of the art facility encompassing two floors, which has since become a staple of the East Northport Business District and community.

Gold’s Gym has offered all East Northport Fireman Free memberships since 1989. They also offer discounts to Northport Fire and Police, Greenlawn and Commack Fire Departments as well as other community organizations. Gold’s Gym offers Classic Gold’s free weight area, over 50 classes per week, private woman’s gym, cardio and strength equipment, turf area, Kids Club, smoothie bar and more!

Gus lives is Northport Village and has been married for 36 years to his beautiful wife Diane, a Real Estate Agent for Coach Realtors. Their family includes daughter Emily, a PR Specialist for Corcoran Realty NYC office and son Nick, a partner at the gym and Real Estate Broker and daughter-in-law Kelly, an RN at Huntington Hospital.
